Howdy,
The last time you heard from me, I had good news and bad news. This time, I'm happy to say, it's all good news. I'm back at home after almost two weeks in the hospital recovering from my latest surgery. I'm working hard to get back to work -- and back on my bike.
As my doctors had hoped, there was no cancer to be found and believe me, they looked in every nook and cranny. My doctor, Ron DeMatteo, who certainly knows my innards better than anyone at this point, is cautiously optimistic that he has solved the pain issue that has plagued me for the better part of this past year.
I cannot overstate my appreciation and affection for the amazing people at Memorial Sloan Kettering. From the doctor who insisted on checking on me coming off a 26-hour shift to the nurse's aide who told me I was like family (three surgeries will do that), it was an amazing experience. It is not just the level of care, but the level of CARING, that blew me away.
I feel so grateful for all they did -- and for your support through all of this.
I thrive on!
Paul
