Howdy,
Good news! This week’s PT/CT scan shows the primary lesion is slightly smaller, all the liver lesions cystic, showing treatment effect and none show PET uptake. Lucky me! To quote one of my Dr.’s “the drug response is terrific, we can discuss if any surgical interventions are justified, I expect not now, will be the answer”. The plan is to have a follow-up scan in the fall. As resistance to Gleevec generally occurs within 2 years, and I am now 9 months on Gleevec, my doctors are considering surgery. If and when I go that route, it will be after the Mighty Hamptons Triathlon, Tour de Pink ( 3-day 200mile cancer ride) and NYC marathon. (Just getting in shape for surgery)
The Pan Mass Challenge is just around the corner. The Thursday night before the Pan-Mass weekend, August 2nd from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, Signature Cycles, one of Paul’s Posse sponsors, is hosting a cocktail party for Posse members riders and Non-Posse members. Hey, just about anyone looking for free wine/beer and some munchies is invited. Afterwards, we’ll saunter over to a local restaurant (TBD), for a carbo loading dinner.
I continue to Thrive!
I am an Ironman,
Paul
