Howdy,
It's been three years now that I pulled together 'Paul's Posse' to support me and my formidable battle with cancer. This year 'The Posse' rode the PMC together again with our bond and determination as strong as ever. If it was not for my fellow Posse members, I would not have completed my 12th PMC, considering just a short 90+ days ago; I was recovering from major surgery and a very uncertain future. I am so very thankful and each day is an absolute blessing.
This year two scenes particularly struck me. The first was a child at the third water stop on the first day holding a sign saying "I'm 13 this year because of you." The second was the 100+ kids at the Cape Cod Sea Camp who scream their heads off in support as we rode passed. The PMC is not about the personal achievement - it's about what we, who are strong and able, can give to others- life and hope.
The PMC is unquestionably a reaffirmation of the human spirit. I cannot help but hope that this collective support, focus, and determination will be rewarded someday soon with cures.
Thank you so very much for your wonderful friendship.
I Thrive On,
